North India is probably the only region in India that can claim to host such a varied and rich birdlife. Home to well over a thousand species, this region is an absolute paradise for any birdwatcher. The reason it is a treasure house of bird species is because it comprises of varied ecosystems ranging from the hot and humid evergreen forests to the higher altitudes of the lower and middle Himalayas.
“Very good accommodations and restaurant. Attentive staff. Birding was excellent at wetlands.
At Ranthambhore Great boutique hotel. Good restaurant and very good staff. Nice way to end the trip.
Safaris: Safaris at Corbett and Ranthambhore were very good. We had 4 at each reserve. Glimpsed a tiger on first safari in Ranthambhore and had fantastic prolonged view of tiger on second safari there. Overall more difficult to see tigers than I had anticipated. Hence, the number of safaris I suppose. Sightings of other animals were generally very good on each safari.”
