On this birding tour of the Himalayas we take you to some of the best birding locations of the North, namely Pangot, Sattal and, Corbett National Park which boasts of housing over 600 species of birds. There are a number of birds that you can spot during this tour such as Blue Whistling Thrush, Red-billed blue Magpie, Blue-capped Redstart, Rusty-tailed Flycatcher, Crested serpent-eagle, Mountain hawk-eagle, Striated prinia (in the terraced fields), Warblers such as tickell’s leaf-warbler, Flycatchers (Asian brown, rusty-tailed, ultramarine, verditer), Rufous-bellied Niltava, Orange-flanked bush robin, and Blue-capped redstart. A visit to Corbett can also give sightings of the fabled Royal Bengal Tigers among many rare animal species
North India is probably the only region in India that can claim to host such a varied and rich birdlife. Home to well over a thousand species, this region is an absolute paradise for any birdwatcher. The reason it is a treasure house of bird species is because it comprises of varied ecosystems ranging from the hot and humid evergreen forests to the higher altitudes of the lower and middle Himalayas.
We also got a nice Birding trip from Bharatpur to Uttarakhand with (Sattal, Pangot and Corbett), with your driver and (bird) guide Joginder. He saved us from snowy Pangot by leaving one day before the original timetable. An excellent decision otherwise we probably missed our Tiger in Corbett. Also this second part of the trip Joginder drove us very well.
It was really nice to do this trip, also together him. We really enjoyed it!
Joginder showed us again some special birds like Jungle Owlet, Spotted Forktail and so on.
