The Corbett Tiger Reserve is located in the Nainital and Pauri Garhwal districts of Uttaranchal state. It is the first wildlife Reserve park named after the famous naturalist Jim Corbett. The Corbett Wildlife occupies an area of 400-1200 meter. It is located under the foothill of Himalayan terrain, so the hills and river valley expose the unusual vegetation and species. There are 500 species of Elephant, tigers, leopards, crocodiles, deer, Fishing Cat, Wild dog, Gaur, Sloth bear, Hog deer, Sambar, chital, Barking dog, Lesser Fish eagle, Mountain Hawk Eagle, Brown Fish owl, Spotted Owl, Jungle fowl, Woodpecker, Blue throated Barbet, Blue Bearded Bee eater, Orange Bellied Leafbird and much more.

Walking openly in the Corbett wildlife sanctuary is banned in most of the areas due to the security reasons. But you can watch the whole reserve view from an elephants back or on an open jeeps. The elephant and jeep safari gives you a clear view of the park. There is a luxurious guest house for its travelers who want to spend some days or nights with the wild beasts.
