This tour takes you to the best birding sites of West India (such as Kheechan, Desert National Park, Abu Road, Little Rann of Kutch, Great Rann of Kutch, Coastal areas of Jamnagar) & Gir Lion Sanctuary (the only place for Asiatic Lions in India) along with the visit to Blackbuck Sanctuary in Velavadar.
These locations will be a far cry from the jungles of central India, famous for their tiger safaris, and may look lifeless at first. However, nothing could be further from the truth, with these arid habitats being home to some of the most sought-after birds and mammals of the subcontinent.
You will come across a variety of birds, including Yellow-eyed Pigeon, White-browed (Stoliczka’s) Bush Chat, and a fine assortment of cranes, raptors, larks, wheatears, and buntings.
Imagine watching a huge Great Indian Bustard walking sedately across the sandy desert in front of you, or thousands of Demoiselle Cranes feeding just a few meters away, or flocks of sandgrouse uttering their evocative calls as they wheel across a spectacular desert sunset.
