BACKWATERS OF KERALA The

ALUMKADAVU Morning drive to Alumkadavu (23 km) to embark houseboat
and start a 03 night cruise
Visit Amrithapuri ashram, the residence of
Matha Amrithanandamayi Devi. Continue to Karumadi canal where you can see
the large statue of Lord Buddha. Today night boat will be anchored on
Asthamudi Lake.
DAY 03 ALLEPPEY Cruise
to Alleppey. With the Arabian Sea on the west and a vast network of lakes,
lagoons and fresh water rivers crisscrossing it, Alappuzha is a district of
immense natural beauty. Referred to as 'Venice of The East' this backwater
country is also home to diverse animals and bird life. Afternoon de-board
the boat and visit Mannarasala, the Snake Temple. Later visit coir factory
and a local toddy shop. Evening return to boat. Night halt on Vembanadu
Lake.
DAY 04 KUMARAKOM Today your boat
will pass through Punnamada Lake & paddy fields, old temples and
churches. You will also visit some villages on backwaters like Thottapally,
Nedumudy and Kumarakom. Tonight your boat will be anchored at Kumarakom
Lake.
