Chail

Chail is a quite & calm hill station located in Himachal Pradesh near Shimla & Kufri, Chail is approx 300 Kms away from New Delhi ,  Chail was stablished by King Bhupinder Singh , When he was expelled from Shimla, Chail is situated at 2225 mtrs height above sea level. Chail is surrounded by Deodar Forest.

Chail is well connected by road. From Shimla via Kufri the distance is 45 km and via Kandaghat is 61 km. Roads are single one can have beutiful views of Deodar & pine forests onway , Kalka is 86 km away. Regular buses for Chail leave from Shimla, Chandigarh and Delhi. The closest airports are at Chandigarh (120 km) and Shimla (63 km).

Climate Chail:

Temperature can drop below freezing point in winters when heavy woolens are required. In summer the climate is mild and light woolens / cottons are recommended.

Sight Seeing Places : Chail

SIDH BABA KA MANDIR : Sidh Baba's temple is situated 1.5 Kms away from Chail town It is said that King Bhupinder Singh originally began building his palace at this site only. But a Sidh - saintly person - appeared before his in dream and declared that he should build a temple on this place.

CRICKET GROUND : This is worlds highest located cricket & Pol ground , Chail cricket ground was built in year 1893, after leveling top of a hill, Chail cricket ground stands at height of 2444mtrs . Chail cricket ground is located just 3 kms from Chail.

WILDLIFE SANCTUARY : The Chail wildlife sanctuary is located 3 Kms away from Chail town  The Chail sanctuary has wildlife animals like 'ghoral', 'kakkar', 'sambhar', red jungle fowl and 'khalij' and 'cheer' pheasants. Machan like sighting posts have been built at Khuruin to have glimpses of wild animals.

KUFRI: Beautiful & famous hill station Kufri is 25 Kms away from Chail , Drive to Kufri is most enjoyable in between deodar forests , small water falls and small villages leads to Kufri. The Nature Park & Pony rides are great attraction here. A short trek leads to the Mahasu Peak with breathtaking views at Kufri.

SADHUPUL: Sadhu Pul is located onway in between Kanda Ghat & Chail, Sadhupul is a bridge near a village near  the Ashwani stream. Sadhupul is popular picnic spot.

Trekking Adventure: Many adventure trek routes start from Chail like trails lead up to the Choor Peak and to Shimla. There is fishing spot on Giri river at Gaura, 29 km away from Chail.
