Goa is home to over 450 species of birds, including 13 of the 24-species endemic to the Western The excellent habitats, with one National Park and six wildlife sanctuaries, Goa is a birders paradise The Western Ghats and a spectacular bird-thronged lake at Carambolim are a home to many species endemic to peninsular and south India as well as a large number of wintering species from farther north and more widespread Asian birds. The Western Ghats (Sahaydris ) bordering the covered mostly by Tropical wet Evergreen and Tropical Moist Deciduous Forests, all make very good birding areas.
