Birds and Mammals of Eagle Nest &Nameri Tour

Travel to the remote forests of North Eastern India. Witness the amazing diversity of wildlife present. More than 600 species of birds and many varieties of mammals such as Tigers, Rhinos, Deer live in these forests. Your journey will cover two world heritage sites namely the Kaziranga National Park and the Manas National Park. Also, visit Nameri National Park, a scenic paradise.

Itinerary

DAY 01:

Arrive at The Guwahati Airport you will be met by our representative. You will be driving to Manas National Park based on the foothills of the Bhutan Himalayas, in the state of Assam. This is a 3 hours’ drive. Your overnight stay will be an ecofriendly heritage bungalow.

 

DAY 02:

Early morning get ready to for an elephant safari through the heart of the Jungle. The Wild life found here are Tigers, Rhinos, Wild Asiatic Buffaloes, along with a varied species of birds, the Horn Bill and the endangered Bengal Florican are famously sighted here. In the Evening take a jeep Safari to the Manas River. Enjoy the varied Landscapes of northeastern India, the combination of Sub-Himalayan BhabarTerai formation with riverine succession leading up to Sub-Himalayan mountain forest makes it one of the richest biodiversity areas in the world

 

DAY 03:

After breakfast drive to Nameri National Park (6 hours). Reach by evening and overnight at Eco Camp. Evening will be free to stroll around. Dinner will ignite your taste buds with an Assamese twist. Optional Bonfire.

 

DAY 04

After breakfast take a hike for some birdwatching the area has over 300 species and is famous for the White winged wood duck, Great Pied Hornbill, Wreathed Hornbill, Rufous Necked Hornbill, Black Stork, Ibis Bill, Large Whistling Teal, Common Mergernser, King Vulture, Long Billed Ring Plover, Khallej Pheasant, Hill Myna, Pin tailed green Pigeon, Himalayan pied Kingfisher, Three Toed kingfisher, Fairly Blue Bird along with many reptiles which are found in the area. Overnight stay at the Eco Lodge

 

DAY 05

After breakfast, you may opt to enjoy some rafting on the Bhoroli river or go birdwatching. Return to camp for lunch. Leave for Kaziranga National Park (3 hours), supposedly one of the best kept national parks of India. Overnight at ecofriendly cottages or heritage bungalow located in the middle of lush green tea gardens. DAY 06:

DAY 07:

Start the day with an early morning elephant safari from route 3. After breakfast, return to Guwahati (5 hours) for a flight home.

On birding treks, all camping arrangements to include all meals, 3-4 man tent shared by 02 persons, sleeping mats, dining tent, toilet tents, camp staff, porters and local guide.
